The left side of the screen displays a listing of your current Inventory Items, and their corresponding Catalog Numbers. These columns may be sorted by clicking on the column heading. To adjust the width of each column, click and hold on the column separator and move it to the left or right accordingly.
From this screen you can enter and view the basic inventory item information, such as
Include this item on my Web page (checkbox) - Place a check in this box if you wish to show this item on your web site. Default is checked or "Yes."
Include this Item in my Yahoo! Store (checkbox) - Place a check in this box if you wish to show this item on your Yahoo! Store. (Requires that you have a valid Yahoo! Store account.) Default is un-checked or "No."
Item Name - The name of the inventory item as it will appear throughout the Y.E.S.!™ system and Point of Sale
Vendor - The Manufacturer, Distributor or Supplier of the inventory item. (Who do you go to in order to replenish your stock?)
Add - Clicking this button enables you to add a vendor to your vendors list.
Category - Into which general or specific category of items do you want to group this item?
Add - Clicking this button enables you to add/modify your listing of categories.
Quantity Available - This is the field where you enter the number of units you currently have in stock. You will NOT be able to enter a negative number for your current quantity. When processing a sale that has quantities of an item that are greater than your current inventory, a message will appear notifying you that processing this sale will exceed your inventory levels, and will ask if you wish to proceed. Continuing to process this sale will result in a negative number for your item's quantity.

Do NOT use commas here.
If you elect to "Track Quantities Based on the above Option Combinations" this quantity field will not be editable, and will display the message: "Tracking Options". . You will only be able to alter quantities from the "Options" tab screen.
Shipping Weight - Refers to the actual "Shipping Weight" of this item.
Re-Order Point - This field determines at what level Y.E.S.!™ will alert you that the quantity of this item is low. When you access a Re-Order Report, all inventory items whose current quantities are EQUAL TO or BELOW the Re-order point will be listed. This field will default to "0."
NOTE: Use of this field is crucial to maintain complete control over your inventory stocking levels.

If you do not wish for an item to appear on your Re-Order Report, setting the re-order point to "-1" will ensure that the inventory level for this item will not reach or exceed the re-order point without notifying you first.
In-Active (Checkbox) - Place a check in this box if this item is in-active. Default is un-checked, or Active.
Taxable (Checkbox) - Place a check in this box if this item is taxable. Default is checked, or Taxable.
Tax Rule - Select which tax rule to apply to this item. All of the tax rules that you have established using the Tax Rule Builder will be listed.
NOTE: Check boxes appear throughout the program corresponding to certain fields. Placing a check in the corresponding box will display that field on your website.
