When the Y.E.S.! Accounting Interface is started, the screen shown below will appear.
Manual Updates
In normal use (once configured) all that you need to do in order to update your QuickBooks accounting is to click on the "Manual Start" button.

Automatic Update Configuration
You can have the Y.E.S.! Accounting Interface automatically update QuickBooks every day at a given time, by checking "Enable Auto Start" and selecting a Start Time on the main screen as shown above.
NOTE: For this option to work, you MUST leave the Y.E.S.! Accounting Interface running on your computer. You can minimize it while it is running so that it does not interfere with other activities.
File

Under the File menu are two options:
Hide - minimizes the program, instead of closing it.
You do not want to close the program if you have checked "Enable Auto Start" and you intend to automatically update QuickBooks Accounting. This is when you would select "Hide".
Exit - which will close the program.
Options

The Options Menu contains three (3) options:
Reset QuickBooks ID in Y.E.S.!

NOTE: You would only need to Reset QuickBooks ID's in Y.E.S.! if you have created a new company in QuickBooks.
Background information: When the Y.E.S.! Accounting Interface is run, a flag is set in the Y.E.S.! database for each record as it is updated in QuickBooks in order that the same records will not be entered in your QuickBooks database twice. However, if you needed to start your company over in QuickBooks, or you started a new company and attempted to interface to your existing Y.E.S.! database, these database flags would not let you interface to the new database correctly or fully. Running this option will re-set all of these record flags.
Only in such cases will you need to Reset QuickBooks ID's in Y.E.S.!. Check the record types that you need to re-import. (The default is all types are checked.) Click on "Run Now" to reset the records.
Be aware that if the "All transactions" check box is checked, all Transactions that already exist in QuickBooks, will be duplicated!
Remove Failed Transaction - Clicking on this Menu Option will remove any Y.E.S.!

Remove Failed Transaction - Clicking on this Menu Option will remove any failed Transactions found by the Y.E.S.! Accounting Interface during a previous pass. Removing Failed Transactions does not actually correct any problem, but only tells the Accounting Interface to no longer attempt to process this transaction.
NOTE: Before removing Failed Transactions, you must manually correct the associated problem(s).
Set Undeposited Funds - You can change whether Y.E.S.! will use its' own "Y.E.S!-Undeposited Funds" account in QuickBooks or the QuickBooks default account of "Undeposited Funds". The advantage of using "Y.E.S!-Undeposited Funds" (the default) is that transactions which originated from the Y.E.S.! system will be kept separate from your other accounting activities. Changes made to this setting will be applied only to transactions submitted to QuickBooks through this interface from the time that the change is made forward and not to existing transactions.

Reports

The Report Menu provides access to two (2) Reports:
Failed Transaction Report. If any failed transactions are reported, you may remove them by running "Remove Failed Transaction" from the Options Menu, as described above after you have corrected the associated problem(s) in QuickBooks. Failed transactions reported by the Failed Transactions Report are automatically cleared each time that the Accounting Interface is run when the cause of the failure is corrected (as determined by a review of the contents of the report).
